I take acidopholis pills every day. Don't know if it does anything for gall bladder but it helps balance good/bad bacteria in your intestines. I have a big problem with diverticulitis and since I have been taking it (3 years) I very rarely if ever have any attacks. Its great.
Sun, 16 May 2010 14:03:24 +0000 Anonymous comment 1548 at http://www.healthandage.com Gallstones, Gall Bladder and Pain: Can you still have gallstones /gallstones-gall-bladder-and-pain-can-you-still-have-gallstones-after-gallbladder-removal#comment-1533
Ended up gettingonsome yakults. Still having pain from trapped gases once i am laying down. have been waking up in the night with trapped gas and pain. Wondering how long these symptoms last as the dr says only up to 48hr. Does anyone know how to relieve the pain apart from using a hot water bottle and drinking hot water to get rid of gas. this was what the nurse recommended at the hospital
Sun, 09 May 2010 10:54:08 +0000 Anonymous comment 1518 at http://www.healthandage.com Gallstones, Gall Bladder and Pain: Can you still have gallstones /gallstones-gall-bladder-and-pain-can-you-still-have-gallstones-after-gallbladder-removal#comment-1517
It's all in how your body will react to not having a gallbladder. Everyone is different. Some are fine and some are not, anyhow, you will have to change your diet regardless. So just be prepared for that. You might want to look into a gallbladder flush b4, might wrk for you. IDK. All I'm saying is be prepared that everything might not be perfect afterward. Best of luck to you. :)
Sun, 09 May 2010 01:24:02 +0000 Anonymous comment 1517 at http://www.healthandage.com Gallstones, Gall Bladder and Pain: Can you still have gallstones /gallstones-gall-bladder-and-pain-can-you-still-have-gallstones-after-gallbladder-removal#comment-1516
Yes, i have and am still going threw this. I had my gallbladder removed last year in Dec. I've been to the dr several times, Had an ultrasound and blood wrk done, they found that i had h. Pylori, and infection in the stomach, gave me meds, but still hurting. I finally went to a nutritionist, she gave me a supplement called Digest Gold which i have to take everytime before i eat a meal. Said it was sumthing that was made for people who have gallbladder surgery. I no longer have diahrrea, still have pain after i eat. Also had a colonoscopy and endoscopy, which i am still waiting for results on those. The only thing that i can tell you is stay away from everything and anything fried. I dnt know about you but all my dr told me was that if i ate anything fried i would get diahrrea afterward. But he didn't say to stay away frm it. But frm what the nutritionist told me is that after gallbladder surgery your body can not digest fried food. So stick to baked, broiled, grilled only. And just fish, chicken, and turkey meat, no red meat. Also eat wheat everything, pasta, bread, etc. And see if it helps. Since our bodies already had a hard time with our food, now that we dnt have gallbladders, it just made it even more difficult. Also, i dnt produce enough stomach acid, so i take a supplement called Betaine, you might wana look into that also. If you are of type A blood, you might not be producing enough stomach acid. I'm sorry that you are goin threw this, it's horrible, i know. Just hang in there and be strong.
Sun, 09 May 2010 01:18:20 +0000 Anonymous comment 1516 at http://www.healthandage.com Gallstones, Gall Bladder and Pain: Can you still have gallstones /gallstones-gall-bladder-and-pain-can-you-still-have-gallstones-after-gallbladder-removal#comment-1514
Hi
My son had gallbladder surgery 2 months ago and went through the same thing.
